Afraid? Do it Anyway! You Deserve to Have The Life You Want.

“Do it now. The future is promised to no one.”-Wayne Dyer

“Always do what you are afraid to do.”-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Life is short. Really short.

And as time goes on, it gets shorter. Time flies faster.

With those thoughts pervading my mind, I realize that I just don’t have time to waste (unless, of course, there is a purpose in wasting time, in which case…is it really a waste? Hmmm. That’s for another blog).

This is why I have had this mindset of “Do it Afraid” and “Do it Messy,” because the reality is I’m not guaranteed anything.

I’m not guaranteed that I will reach my goals.

I am not guaranteed that I will see my dreams realized.

I am not guaranteed the future I desire.

I’m not guaranteed tomorrow.

And neither are you.

I don’t mean to be a buzzkill, but that’s reality.

And that is why grabbing a hold of the mindset, “Do it Afraid” and “Do it Messy” is so vital. While there are no guarantees in this life, there is so much that we can do, enjoy and accomplish if we take one step at a time, while being willing to do what we are doing with trepidation, even if it’s done messy, poorly or just plain ugly.

Too many people don’t do the “it” they want to do. WHY is that?

F-E-A-R. (Oh my gosh…I could write so much about all the times I allowed fear to stop me from doing SO MANY THINGS.

Fear stops us COLD. I know it from personal experience and if you are honest with yourself, you know it, too.

There were too many times in my life that I stopped cold in my tracks because of FEAR. (Beneath that fear was low self-worth, but that’s a topic for another day).

Fear of rejection.

Fear of failure.

Fear of the “not enoughness” roller coaster.

Fear of financial instability.

In the past, these fears have kept me small and mostly quiet. They have kept me anonymous, playing a best-supporting role. They have kept me in line.  They have kept me from dreaming big dreams. And, they have kept me from TRYING and from stepping out of my comfort zone.

That WAS me. 100%.

Thankfully, that Amy has been replaced with an Amy that knows her worth and steps towards her goals and dreams despite the fears (not 100% of the time, but there’s been so much progress in this arena). Now, I am more willing let go of the doubt. I am (more) able to listen to my instincts and follow their lead. I can more often be bold, brilliant, brazen and wholeheartedly badass. I can grow, change and transform…THAT never gets old.

THAT is Amazing , isn’t it? As long as we draw breath, we can transform into stronger, wiser, more powerful people. That is EPIC!

Of course, that’s not to say that fear doesn’t still sneak in. It definitely does! In fact, I am dealing with some new fears, even as I write this email.

As I wrestle with these new fears that have cropped up, my mindset of “Do it Afraid” and “Do it Messy” means that I catch myself in those moments of fear and doubt.

I acknowledge my thoughts and strategically work to replace those thoughts with something that is going to be 100x more useful to me. It is a strategic skill that I learned in coaching and it has transformed my thought life as well as every facet of my life.

The difference between the old Amy and the new Amy is that I am deciding to step toward the fear instead of shrink from it. I am deciding to try new things. I am willing to fail and use that failure to grow.

I may not get to decide exactly how my future will look, but I can more easily walk toward it knowing that I will take more from the “it” than “it” will take from me.

And, THAT is everything.

What about you? Did anything resonate with you?

If so, that is an indicator that you may be ready for coaching and I would love to be your coach. I’m a firm believer that anyone can benefit from a coach. It’s not just for professional athletes or for top-level executives.

Coaching is for:

  • Anyone who wants their life to be a little bit (or a lot!) different.

  • Anyone who is tired of feeling stuck and ready to make a shift.

  • Anyone who needs support to launch their career or business.

  • Anyone who wants to make more money.

  • Anyone who feels directionless, hopeless or lost and needs support to take just one step.

  • Anyone is eager, motivated and driven, but needs a little help getting on track.

I LOVE facilitating change is people’s lives (and I’m really good at it).

I help woman change their lives because I am able to see their potential far more than they can see it in themselves.

I work with women to face their fears, grow their self-worth and live the life they previously thought was too good to be true.

I have shown women how to get unshackled by their own perfectionism, low self-esteem and negativity.

I have guided women to transform their mindset in order to:

  • launch their business,

  • lose their unwanted weight,

  • restore relationships,

  • create boundaries in toxic relationships and

  • take their careers to the next level (both in title and in income).

I have comforted women through their traumas-from childhood trauma and emotional abuses to religious trauma.

I have supported women who have gone through life-altering events such as divorce, death and coming out.

If you are curious , interested or intrigued, let’s talk.

I always, always offer a complimentary first coaching call so that we can see if we are a good fit and you can get a sense of what coaching with me is like. My clients regularly tell me that they leave the first call feeling hopeful, eager and ready to make changes in their lives.
